What is Bounce Rate?
Why Is it Critical For SEO And The Ways To Make It Lower?
Bounce Rate wo rate hai jis main visiter apka ek page dekhny ky baad chala jata hai.
You have seen the percentage of bounce rate in Google Analytics of your website. If it's below 70 then it is normal and good.
Yesterday, a person showed me a site that has a bounce rate of 80%, I told him that the following reasons might be responsible:
- Your website is so slow that the person leaves your site even before reading the article. For this purpose, you have to make your website faster. Perhaps, it's due to bad hosting or bad theme. If your theme is heavy, it's time to change the theme. Try to test your website for normal 3G and 4G speed!
- The content you've written is so boring to read. It's said 80% people only read your title of the article whereas the rest 10-15 percent people read only the headings and the images whereas only a small portion read the entire article. It shows that Apky Title Main Jan Honi Chaye! Your article must be appealing images that can make the visitor stay longer on your website.
How you will determine your article is so boring to read?
The clear answer to this question is that your article is so long with long paragrah. You should write a paragrah maximum of 2 to 3 sentences.
Try to read the articles that are written Backlinko! Its bounce rate is 45%, he showed in an article via Google Analytics. Why it's so low? Because:
A. He writes short sentences.
B. He places relevant images.
C. He places his own videos.
D. The overall user experience on his website is great: theme, logo, coloring scheme.
Read this article of him for the real time example at Link Building Case Study: How I Increased My Search Traffic by 110% in 14 Days
I will talk about more factors in the next part 2.

SEO Episode 40: What is Bounce Rate? Why Is it Critical For SEO And The Ways To Make It Lower? Part 2/3
---
In part 1, a lot of people confused because of the complex definition of the bounce rate.
---
In part 1, a lot of people confused because of the complex definition of the bounce rate.
Let's me explain a little bit more about it.
Google Analytics defines this term as
Bounce Rate is the percentage of single-page visits (i.e. visits in which the person left your site from the entrance page without interacting with the page).
Why people of this group got confused? Because they taught a number of duration is also included in bounce rate. The bounce rate has nothing to do with time. Either the visitor stays on your website for the whole day, and only one page, your bounce rate will be 100%. Yep, it will increase Avg. Session Duration, but not the bounce rate.
It shows that:
Bounce rate for a session with 4 page view is 0%
Bounce rate for a session with 3 page view is 25%
Bounce rate for a session with 2 page view is 50%
Bounce rate for a session with 1 page view is 100%
Bounce rate for a session with 3 page view is 25%
Bounce rate for a session with 2 page view is 50%
Bounce rate for a session with 1 page view is 100%
It means if the visitor visits only one page then its bounce rate will be 100%. The same goes for others.
Look
The bounce rate is 60, and Avg. Time Duration is about 4 minutes.
The bounce Kisi Bhi Cheez Sy Ho Sakta Hai:
- Apka jo page hai us par ek link par click karta hai aur kisi aur website par chala jata hai visiter
- Jis page par apka article hai wo window ya tab band kar dy
- wo new URL type kary address bar main ja kr
- Wo back par click kary aur previosu website or result par chly jye
Again it has nothing to do with time. I hope Apko Bounce Rate Ki Samjh A Gye Hogi.
Because of the yesterday confusion, I have decided to write more about it in part 3, how we can lower our bounce rate and increase Avg. Duration Time.

SEO Episode 42: What is Bounce Rate? Why Is it Critical For SEO And The Ways To Make It Lower? Part 3/3 | 6 Factors At A Glance

In part I, I talked about two factors where I depicted how you can reduce the bounce rate, and in part II, a lot of people had confusion in determining the bounce rate correctly.

In part I, I talked about two factors where I depicted how you can reduce the bounce rate, and in part II, a lot of people had confusion in determining the bounce rate correctly.
In this part III, I will explain 6 factors by which you can reduce your bounce rate.
These are the followings:
1. Good Internal Linking | External Linking With A New Open Windows
If your site is old, and you have written so many articles and the written articles belong to the same niche, then it becomes easy to interlink each other.
It lowers the bounce rate as the person clicks on many websites as well as it increases Avg. Duration Time of your website.
It also helps in ranking.
Check the example of Wikipedia that uses a lot of internal linking. You keep clicking the anchor texts in order to learn more, in this way, bounce rate reduces to a greater extent.
You should use the external link as well, but it should be opened in a new window otherwise your website will close that will be counted as a bounce.
2. Short Paragraph with Sub-headings and Bullet points
I love the article that has sub-headings because it makes easy to read the article.
If a person likes a thing, then you must have knowledge that Google likes that thing too. That's why it's said: "you should write for the users, not the search engine."
I have seen many websites of this group on which long paragraph are written.
People like to read short paragraphs. If you visit Backlinko, he uses the same way, and its bounce rate is below 45 shown one of his articles.
"Spin Content Software cannot do it! They can't write such an engaging article with short paragraphs."
If your article writer is writing long paragraphs, then it's time to change his perception.
3. Intent Based Keywords
Yep! It's right that if you're not targeting the right keywords based on real intent, then you're bringing wrong visitors that will make the bounce rate of your website a lot higher.
The same goes for the social sharing, if you're not sharing your articles for the right niche in the right groups, you will waste your time and money.
It also shows that if you're ranking a keyword that is not fulfilling the intent of the keyword, even you rank that article, it will have more harm than good.
4. Fix Broken Links
If you haven't done an audit of your website that shows all the errors of your website, then you may get into hot water.
You must check all the broken links on your website, then fix that because it makes user exit the rate that makes the bounce rate higher.
5. Font Size. Color. Logo. Theme.
It's true that I don't like to read an article on a website that has too small font size as well as it has so strange color.
There are so many in this group who don't care. Their font is so strange as if letters seem mixed with each other.
Please visit BBC Future, Propakistani, Neilpatel, and check the font size and font style by going to inspect element. I will show in this weekend video.
6. Speed Up the Page | Good Hosting | Optimized Images
It's time to speed up your website so that users don't leave your website because of slow site speed.
If your article is loading slow, then use CDN that makes your site's load time lower as well as use optimized images of low size so that it can be loaded fast.
There are a lot of other ways to reduce that, but for this, these are the critical ones.
